It’s hard to put into words the best parts of our 12 day trip in Sri Lanka with Sri Lankan Dream Tour because everything was perfect! This was all thanks to our very skilled driver & guide, Daminda (aka James Bond!) From the minute he met us in the airport Daminda was welcoming, friendly, very knowledgeable and hilarious! Straight away it was evident how experienced he was in the job and he made sure we had the best service throughout. We learnt so much about Sri Lanka and all the places we visited thanks to Daminda and his fantastic knowledge about everything & ability to speak English! Throughout the trip, Daminda helped us alter our itinerary to make sure we saw all the best sites, recommended and reserved us some amazing places to eat and was even a talented photographer! We had a great laugh on the journeys between locations and it wasn’t long until Mr Bond (Daminda) became more of a friend than just a driver/guide! Nothing was too much trouble (not even climbing Ella rock at 4:30am for the sunrise). Our new friend Daminda is an asset to the company and the memories made will stay with us forever. We recommend him as your driver/guide without any hesitation.

He also explained us a lot of things about Sri Lanka and about the places we visited. Moreover he helped us organizing our activities and suggesting things to do. He was more than a driver, he was a true guide and travel companion.

We have a great two weeks with Sanjeewa who was a considerate driver guide. Look after us well and made sure we were safe . Gave us so much information re sites it was great. The whole booking from the Uk went smoothly and we would certainly use you again if we come back to Sri Lanka .

I just came back from a 15 days of holiday in Sri Lanka and I want to talk a bit about Sri Lanka Dream Tour. They (and by they, i want to say our guide, Upul, and his driver) showed professionalism and made use feel comfortable even if we were thousands of km from home. Upul was differet that everything I have seen, e really cared about us and wanted to be me and my friends to be safe anywhere we went. He became part of our group, a friend, and we will always remember both the country and SLDT.

Sasanka was our driver for our 10 days vacation in Sri Lanka. He has been really polite and helpful, he was always ready to help us.
Definitely recommend Sri Lanka Dream Tour and our driver which was the best.

My friend and I did a 8 day tour of Sri Lanka clock-wise starting from Colombo to Mirissa in the following order: Colombo-Mihintale-Anuradhapura-Sigiriya-Dambulla-Wasgamuwa safari-Kandy-Nallathaniya-Nuwara Eliya-Ella-Haputale-Udawalawa safari-Mirissa. It was a quite tough itinerary because we wanted to see it all, so next time we would probably recommend doing the same tour but in more time. About our driver Dinusha specifically, we enjoyed our tour with him. He’s a very nice guy. We’ve had some misundertandings, but we think mostly because of the little language burden – and nothing important really. We also liked the fact that he’s in in 30s, so my friend and I (in our 20s) could also share some stories with him – which I think is important when you spend that much time with a person. He also always called the hotels/homestays we would spend the night in, in order to make sure everything was fine and that he would have a place to stay as close to us as possible. He really cared about our safety and wellbeing, brought us to places he knew for us to have lunch. Recommended!

We went on a 12 day tour with Sri Lanka Dream Tour. Our driver Harsha was amazing, and honestly one of the best tour guides/drivers we’ve had, and we’ve traveled to over 40 countries. Sri Lanka, while beautiful, is not a tier one tourism destination. As such, the service standards are not top notch. Very few people can speak English well, servers are often slow and inattentive, and it can be easy to feel ignored and a bit like a piece of luggage. Harsha is a diamond in the rough.

College educated, he speaks English fluently, able to joke and even get into discussions on economics. He is relaxed and willing to go with the flow but also organized and able to help plan the day’s itinerary and able to arrange tours and tickets. He even got us seats on the overbooked train to Ella. Most importantly, he actually cares. He’s passionate about animals and elephants (knows their scientific names) and actually guides us (many of the local attraction guides just walked us around and didn’t say anything).

He is always willing to be available at all times but never feels like he is pandering for money (in fact, he tends to spot us cash when we need it). He’s happy to take photos for us (and other tourists wandering around). He is super attentive and subtly does things without being asked, adjusting the air conditioning, moving bags, adjusting the music… He was also great with our 9 year old daughter, and we trusted him to watch out for her throughout the trip.

We learned more about Sri Lanka from our driver Harsha than from every other guide and tour in Sri Lanka combined. I cannot imagine navigating this trip without him. Highly recommend. (more…)
